Hello,
I have always loved singing the hymn ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ by Cecil Frances Alexander and first published in 1848. It was known mainly as a children’s hymn.
Do you know it? It is so uplifting and cheerful. At Sunday School it was one of the few hymns I sort of identified with. Most probably due to my love of nature and wonder of all living things.
Here are the words of the first two verses:
All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small
All things wise and wonderful
The Lord God made them allEach little flower that opens
Each little bird that sings
‘He’ made their glowing colours
‘He’ made their tiny wingsFirst verse is then repeated
We will do well to have gratitude for the wonders of our world and keep our focus on these, and not the awfulness we find in it. Where we place our focus creates our manifestations and brings more joy to our circumstances.
There are so many things that are bright and beautiful, wise and wonderful and nature is assisting us to enjoy, heal, keep balanced and live fulfilling lives.
Notice sweet bird song, the opening of new, colourful flowers, the happy busyness of bees visiting these flowers, the whispering sounds of leaves in trees, the amazing cloud formations that are sometimes giving us signs and messages and the musical rhythms of waves on the shore. There is magic everywhere if we care to notice.
This is what we need to focus on to keep our vibrations high, along with kindness and love for our fellow human beings and ourselves as we continue our individual journeys here on this magnificent planet – our home.
Happy singing to this hymn. It will lift your vibration and assist you to focus on beauty.
With love and joyful light,
Merriene
