Hello,
There are fifty seven steps leading down to the sand from the footpath at my local, lovely beach (my sacred space) where I enjoy swimming in the summer and walking in the winter. A photo of this beach is the cover of my soon to be published book “A Journey of Thoughts”.
I have been going up and down these steps for years but have never thought to count them until recently.
What prompted me to do so was the ability to climb up them relatively well again (I was testing myself) after a bout of painful sciatica for a few weeks, which had grounded me well and truly. To move reasonably well again was such a relief. I have always taken my mobility for granted and I now understand how difficult it is when it is no longer there. It has been a wake up call for me to have more compassion for those living with constant pain. I send love to those of you who are suffering.
Thanks to my wise and caring chiropractor Simon and other helpful healers and friends who have experienced sciatica and found relief, I have recovered quickly. Our bodies are our home/vehicle for each lifetime and our spine and other functions are so important to be working correctly as they “direct” our wellbeing. Adjustment our subluxations (distortions) improve the connection between our inner healing ability, nervous system and body. Honour your home. The body has innate healing abilities when we give it love.
There is a huge down pouring of light from the sun on the planet now, that is affecting us all physically in various ways. Our cells are needing to adapt, and it is uncomfortable. Be kind to yourself and rest more often if you need to.
I came across these words recently:
If speaking kindly to plants helps them grow, imagine what speaking kindly to humans (including ourselves) can do.
With love and gratitude (for trusting my body to recover well!). Have a wonderful month of self care.
Merriene
