Mental Health and Spiritual Connection

Hello and joy for this new year,

Here we are with a new year to experience. What is your attitude and feeling for it?

Where are you in your understanding of your life’s purpose and your current circumstances? We have all had many challenges and hopefully many joys!

We can say they are tests of initiation towards a higher level consciousness.

The amount of mental illness in many communities all around the world is deeply disturbing. Why is this so?

My reasoning is that many people who are struggling with their mental health have lost a strong and loving connection to their spiritual/soul/higher self. They are fractured human beings who have split from the nurturing, wise knowing part of themselves. Often this is due to trauma in their life, either in their childhood, or even more recently and they have not had loving encouragement to know their self worth and sovereignty. They do not have a safe framework for living.

Modern day living is full of distractions, with too much information and stimulation overload and subtle suggestions for unnecessary compliance. There is a lot of distorted “group think”, all to discourage individuals from having curiosity, as well as deep, critical thinking. There are many factors at work to prevent people from living independent, creative lives and keeping you being dependant on “higher”, sometimes unwise authorities.

We are all here for our unique reasons and all worthy humans.

Perhaps this year for you can be one of simplifying, learning to say no at times, focusing on what is important – such as heartfelt relationships, kindness, compassion and gratitude for your life’s experiences so far. Research what you are being asked to do and go to your wise soul self for your answer. Spend as much time as you can in nature to keep your balance, receive wonderful nurturing and connection to all that is. This will keep you resilient. Lighten up and have fun as often as you are able.

May you have a magical and fulfilling year. Remember your magnificence.

Much love,

Merriene
