November 2025
Hello,
Do you have a ‘ready smile’? Do you smile often?
These are the questions to ask yourself.
If you don’t smile easily and often, why not?
For some of you life is tough, and your heart is in pain. It is not easy to smile at any time. For others of you being immersed in your own problems doesn’t always give you the ability to rise above them and see the sun shining beyond the clouds.
However, if and when you can, smiling will help you heal. A smile has the power to lift your frequency and lessen the focus on your challenges. It is an unconditional gift to those around you. There are less muscles used to smile than frown!
Raising your vibration through smiling is going on the longest trip you will ever take – from your head to your heart (and the journey is only a foot (30cms) long!
As I have said, a smile is a gift you can give to everyone. Having eye contact and smiling with someone, be it a stranger – even if you are just walking past them, will give them validation that they matter and are of value.
I have had many lovely and sometimes amazing encounters with people with whom I have smiled and had eye contact. These encounters have taken place in lifts, shopping aisles (recently with someone discussing the best mangoes to buy), cafes where they may be someone sitting alone at the next table. They have been opportunities to share something about life and our journey in it.
It is communication from one soul to another, acknowledging our roles here as humans with our similarities and differences in our experiences, challenges and circumstances. Sometimes these chance meetings (all from a simple smile) lead to friendship and more enriching sharing longer term.
Smiling can lead to laughter, which in all forms can release tension, heal hurts, restore calm and open the heart much wider. Laughing at yourself at times can be cathartic and healthy. Our perception of reality creates our reality. Smiling and laughter manifest a happier reality.
We can’t all be happy all the time and yet “a smile can launch a thousand ships”. This is my take on the saying ” A face (Helen of Troy) can …” All it takes is a few muscles working in the right direction.
Have a lovely smile filled November.
With smiles and love,
Merriene
