Warm wishes and happy March,
Early in our spring (October) I bought, at the local garden centre, a new white rose with a lovely perfume to replace the very old and much loved old white rose that had graced, in a pot, my front courtyard for many years.
My shamanic name is White Rose, so it is fitting for me to have at least one white rose in my garden.
After planting, I watched with loving anticipation for the new shoots to appear on my new rose. This did occur, however after a few weeks of delightful growth, much to my horror, the fresh growth was all snapped off and lying on the ground.
Oh dear! What could it be causing this?
My life was busy at the time with a house guest, so it took me a few more weeks before I could play detective and find the culprit. Eventually I discovered it was a grasshopper doing the damage (naturally green and camouflaged in amongst the green leaves). It was my first encounter with a grasshopper in my garden. It was very evasive, and it took me a few more days of “spying” to catch it in action. As I took it by surprise it fell to the ground and I stamped on it (which was done in haste and a last course of action for me, as I don’t usually wish to kill anything).
At last my rose bush grew beautiful white roses. The bush was finally fulfilling its purpose.
On reflection, perhaps it was symbolic and giving me a message that we all sometimes need to “stamp” on (get rid of) unwanted damaging behaviours, people, ideas, situations in our life..
We can visualise we have a rubber stamp with the word “cancel” on it, so we can move on from negative factors preventing or stunting our growth. We can then grow, blossom and flourish (as my lovely rose bush is now doing) to fulfill our reason for being.
We are then creating new pathways and opening new doors into previously unattainable choices of direction. Do not doubt your purpose or your connection with the higher power of all that is. You have a unique design for your life.
Focus on your intent and be the bright star of light that you are.
With love and light,
Merriene
